This small but exquisitely designed fort served as a home for Akbar during his religious and official visits to Ajmer.

The fact is that this Mughal bastion was the very place where the historic meeting between Emperor Jehangir and Sir Thomas Roe of the East India Company took place.

Tourist Attractions of Ajmer was later converted into a munitions house during the British occupation of Ajmer.

It was even renamed as the "Rajputana Arsenal" by the British.


A part of Akbar's Palace in Ajmer was converted into a fine museum in 1908.

Today, visitors can almost see the history of Ajmer coming alive in front of their eyes as they tour the museum.
