Chaitanya and Arshvant win US Kids Golf India Tour play-off

The all-new 2021 season of the highly anticipated US Kids Golf India North Tour kicked off Thursday with a series of hotly contested events at the iconic Classic Golf and Country Club. This was the first stage where all winners, based on their arrival and scores, will receive priority points that will help them qualify for US Kids Golf international events in Europe and at the United States.

With almost 60 young stars from various age groups taking the early morning start, there was a lot of excitement with the players and their parents descending on the Jack Nicklaus ITC Classic Golf and Country Club.

Two of the fiercest competitions at this hugely popular event took place among boys under 10 and boys under 12.

In the Under-12 Boys ‘category, Arshvant Srivastava, who dominated the 2019 Under-10 Boys’ season standings in the last full season, has started the new season well. He had to go through the barrage against Kanav Chauhan, however, after the two were tied for the lead with cards of 5 of 77 each.

In the Under-10 boys, Chaitanya Pandey beat Siddaan Chibber in the play-off after the two were tied at 4 of 76. In the play-off, Chaitanya beat Dubai-based Siddhaan.

Amit Dube, former Indian international, and now coach and tournament director for US Kids Golf India, said: “The most impressive thing about these youngsters was that they kept the pace of the game. crucial that they grow up in the game. To play well and not put up with slow play is what we teach them. They did a great job. ”His wards Vihaan Malhotra (boys 13-14) and Arshvant Srivastava (boys under 12) were among the winners.

Rajesh Srivastava, President of US Kids Golf India, added, “We will soon be announcing a program that will help these kids spend more time on the world-class ITC Classic Golf and Country Club course. These kids are the future of Indian golf and their show at the first event was exemplary in performance and etiquette on the course.

The biggest cheers of the day were reserved for the winner of the Girls Under 8 section, where Gurugram’s little golfer Annika Chendira, who likes to share her name with legendary Annika Sorenstam, defeated her closest rival Kiara Yadav. by a margin of six strokes. Annika Chendira got a 7 of 43 card for her nine holes.

Equally impressive was Kabir Goyal, who won the Boys Under 6 division, where he shot 3 over for the nine hole competition.

The three youngest divisions – Boys Under 6, Boys Under 7 and Girls Under 8 were contested over nine holes. The winners in many events have been decided by a margin of just one or two strokes and two have been decided in a play-off.

The second event of the eight rounds of the US Kids Golf India North Tour will take place on Friday, October 22.
