Colorado Mushroom Festival: a one-of-a-kind celebration!

The Telluride Mushroom Festival, as popular as
Mushroom Festival, is one of the most unique festivals celebrated in the city of Telluride in Colorado, USA. The annual mushroom festival attracts tourists from all over the world, and this year, too, the state expects the same. This year will see the 41st edition of the festival and it will be held from August 18-22.

What to expect?

During this festival, mushrooms are discussed in detail as food and medicine. The main motive for organizing the feast is to educate the world about mushrooms and its benefits. Visitors and mushroom enthusiasts come to Colorado from all over the world to take part in this unique celebration.

People walk through scenic mountain meadows in search of mushrooms in the forest. They collect them and identify each one. Apparently, the mountains of Colorado are extremely rich in mushrooms and more than a dozen varieties of mushrooms can be found.

At the end of the party, a parade is held in downtown Telluride, where people wear mycology-inspired costumes. People attending the event start preparing for the same months in advance.

Telluride happened to be an old Victorian mining town in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The town is close to the canyon right in the middle of wooded peaks.
