India tour in England: Laxman wants Cheteshwar Pujara to repeat Rahul Dravid’s exploits in EnglandCheteshwar Pujara, pillar of the Indian staff, is going through a difficult period. The next five-game series in England is a good opportunity for him to get back in shape. Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman wants No.3 batsman to repeat Rahul Dravid’s exploits as Virat Kohli & Co aim for the series victory for India in England after 13 years.

“There is no doubt that Pujara will be aware of the lean season he is going through, in terms of scoring those big fifties or scoring those hundreds and you have high expectations of Pujara at position # 3 because it is ‘is a very important position with the two forerunners ”, Laxman told Star Sports.

“In 2002 and 2007, the reason for our victories on those two tours was that our first order and our No. 3 drummer, who was Rahul Dravid, they shot. Once the higher order establishes a very good base it allows the middle order batsmen to come in and play their natural game and in doing so you post a very healthy total in the first innings and you still dictate the terms, ” Laxman added.
