Palladium Hotel Group is optimistic about the outlook in India and expects good business by 2023, said Sandra Polo Canudas, Commercial Director Asia and MEA, Palladium Hotel Group, while interacting with TravelBiz Monitor. “India is one of the Palladium Group’s top 10 markets and I know this market very well as I have been traveling there since 2014,” Canudas said.
One of the group’s dreams is to bring paradise closer to travelers. When asked to say to what extent the group has achieved this goal? Canudas replied, “We are constantly evolving with the needs of our customers and, in this sense, bring paradise closer to our customers. The way we have evolved over the past few years has attracted customers from all over the world, including India,” she said.
According to Canudas, the group has 41 establishments around the world and among them Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel in Spain has none. “This property is also very popular among Indians,” she said.
Talking about the Indian market, she said Tier I and Tier II cities do good business for them. “We get travelers from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad,” Canudas said. She also said that they plan to enter new markets in India and will probably do so next year. “We have plans to target Chandigarh and Kolkata,” she said.
Canudas was very optimistic about India and said 2023 will produce good results in this market. “Having been in contact with the business fraternity in India, I am sure that 2023 will be a good year in terms of business for us. Currently we have some problems with visas, but I am sure it will improve. I’m sure next year many Indians will visit Spain and stay at our hotel,” she said.
Talking about their target segment, Canudas said that they focus more on the FIT segment. “People want to travel on their own and not under anyone’s direction. Our properties can offer the best solutions for the segment,” she said. Besides FIT, they also target destination weddings and MICE. “For destination weddings, our property in Cancun, Mexico is very popular among Indians. We have done many such weddings for Indian guests,” she said.
Canudas is also happy with the kind of response they are getting from this market and said people here in India are very familiar with each Palladium hotel located in different parts of the world. “It is a huge thing and shows their interest in visiting our properties. We have appointed Global Destinations as our partner for this market, and they have worked hard. I am sure our business will grow further from India,” said Canudas, optimistic.
