Very soon, a cable car between Sonprayag and Kedarnath shrine in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand will come into being to facilitate the journey of pilgrims. According to reports, the National Wildlife Council (NBWL) has given the long-awaited go-ahead for the development of a ropeway between Sonprayag and Kedarnath Sanctuary in Rudraprayag district, which is likely to give a big boost to tourism religious.
If the reports are confirmed, the 13 km long Sonprayag-Kedarnath cable car project will cost almost INR 1200 crore. Currently, pilgrims can visit the Himalayan shrine via helicopter service.
