In June, the port city of Visakhapatnam will launch its first full-fledged service with the cruise liner
The Empress liner should arrive at the port of Visakhapatnam on June 8 and will sail the same night to Pondicherry and then to Chennai. The three-night cruise from Visakhapatnam to Pondicherry and Chennai promises to be an unforgettable experience.
The Empress is a destination unto itself with five types of double occupancy rooms onboard: Interior, Ocean View, Balcony, Suite, and President’s Suite; and facilities such as food court serving the best of Indian and international cuisine, swimming pool, fitness center, restaurant, lounges, casino, live entertainment, Cordelia Academy for Kids, DJ entertainment and rock climbing. Departure dates are June 8, 15 and 22. The Empress can accommodate 1500 to 1800 passengers. After the initial cruise, many more cruise ships are expected to visit Visakhapatnam Port. Although this is not the first cruise ship to visit Visakhapatnam, it will be the first time the port city has offered regular cruise service.
